Those bots are a macro technology, not anywhere near nano, unfortunately. However they're an interesting trend, one that should happen within 20 yrs, unlike nano which I see as 50+ yrs away, if ever. I think even those Japanese macrobots are far from deployment ready. But I do think that within the next 5-10 yrs we'll finally see some really useful robots. I suggest reading Hans Morovic's book "Robot" for some fact based, well reasoned extrapolation.
